The final walk in a four-part reverse Great Saunter series starts at 96th Street and Broadway at 9 AM and follows the Hudson south for eight miles, with a snack stop and optional celebratory toast afterward.
Walk an eight-mile reverse Great Saunter segment down the Hudson at a moderate pace, rain or shine, through the Shorewalkers members-only group.
**What’s [arguably] better than walking the Great Saunter 32-miles in one day? Doing it over four days! Today October 16 we finish our 4-3-2-1 countdown walking from 96th Street to 55 Water Street, the \*first\* quarter of the iconic [May] Great Saunter course, which we're doing in reverse, i.e., counter-clockwise.** **One/October 16** On or fourth and final day, we'll finish the 32-mile loop! We’ll walk 8 miles at a moderate pace from 96th Street down the Hudson to 55 Water Street, where the Great Saunter begins. **Meeting Place/Time:** Meet Friday, October 16 at 9:00 a.m., at the 96th Street 1/2/3 subway exit, north side. We will use the restrooms in the Dinosaur Playground near the start of the walk. No lunch but we'll have a brief snack stop in Hudson River Park, roughly midway. The walk will end at 55 Wall Street, and you invited to join in a celebratory toast at **Fraunces Tavern,** across the street. **Bring:** Water, snacks, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. We will walk rain or shine. **Return:** Closest subways to 55 Wall Street and Fraunces Tavern are the No. 1/South Ferry and the N/W/R Whitehall-South Ferry.
