BEYOND COLOUR, ST JAMES QUARTER

St James Quarter, St James Cres, Edinburgh
This month our inspiration is Harry Gruyaert, the street photographer, who uses colour as the main focus of interest to tell his stories. It is described as :”reality through colour”. His use of colour goes beyond aesthetics. Instagram: @harry_gruyaert[ ](https://www.instagram.com/harry_gruyaert/?hl=en) [https://www.magnumphotos.com/arts-culture/harry-gruyaert-returns-to-morocco/](https://www.magnumphotos.com/arts-culture/harry-gruyaert-returns-to-morocco/) I suggest we use colourful objects as the starting point of our pictures such as clothes, objects in shop windows, cars, shop fronts etc. However we don’t have to copy his style. Let's explore the **St James Quarter and around**. **Please note: no large cameras permitted in the St James Quarter Shopping Centre.** We have enquired with the management before, they do not want 'commercial photography' in the centre and 'big cameras' will get you stopped by security. **MOBILE PHONES** **only in the shopping centre** as large cameras are not allowed. Meet at the main entrance to the shopping centre, at the top of Leith Street, where it meets the east end of Princes Street. We will meet for drinks afterwards at Motel One, upstairs bar, just off Princes Street, West Register Street at 2 30pm, next to the Apple store.
