🦉🎬 WILDWOOD (FILM & DISCUSSION)

🌿 **Don't get lost in the Impassable Wilderness...** 👋 **Hi everyone!** We are changing gears to something a little bit different this time, as we take a look at the latest **stop-motion dark fantasy film** produced by **LAIKA Studios**.. The film is directed by **Travis Knight**, written by **Chris Butler**, and based on the 2011 fantasy novel by **Colin Meloy**, lead singer of **[The Decemberists](https://www.decemberists.com)**.. The painstaking stop-motion production is fascinating as it took over four years, using **231 puppets and 136 handcrafted sets**. **The film follows** teenager Prue and her classmate Curtis as they launch a rescue mission into a forbidden forest after a murder of crows abducts her infant brother. There, they discover a secret, magical world caught in a brewing war, forcing them to find extraordinary courage to survive. **The Meetup:** As always, we’ll meet for drinks before the film and get acquainted. Once the credits roll, we’ll hang around to discuss the movie, share our reviews, and give it our **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)** score. **Full timings and meetup details will be added nearer the date, so check back here for updates.** So come grab a drink with us and let's follow the path beyond the boundary, without straying too far...
