Privacy Policy

Lerner Ventures, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") owns and operates CliffsList. This policy covers how we handle personal information on cliffslist.fun and related apps. By using CliffsList, you agree to it.
Worth saying clearly: we use AI a lot, including AI companies we don't own. Event listings mostly come from other people's data. If you search, talk to Ask, or use voice search, some of that can leave our systems and go to those AI providers.
What we collect
- Account basics: email, username, profile details, and sign-in data. Passwords for email login are handled by our auth provider; we don't need your Google password.
- Google sign-in: the account id, email, and basic profile Google sends so we can log you in. That doesn't open your Gmail or Calendar to us.
- Stuff you give us: photos, preferences, posts, messages, searches, saves, plans, follows, voice clips for voice search, support emails, and feedback.
- Usage and device info: what you tap, browser/device details, IP address, cookies or similar storage, push subscription tokens, and security/ops logs.
- Location: the city or area you pick, approximate city and country from your connection, plus device location only if you allow it. You can always pick an area instead.
- Notifications: whether you've allowed push or email digests, and delivery status from those channels.
How we use it
We use this to run your account, show listings, power search and social features, personalize results, send the notifications and digests you asked for, stop abuse, keep the product secure, see what's broken, build improvements, and follow the law.
Personalization can use interests, searches, area, saves, follows, and similar activity. Automated recommendations aren't promises about events or people.
Where the law asks for a legal basis, we use: doing what you asked for, legitimate interests like security and product improvement, legal duties, or consent when we need it. You can withdraw consent; that doesn't undo earlier lawful use.
AI and your data
A big chunk of CliffsList runs on AI — search, voice, ranking, recommendations, Ask, and related features. Much of that processing is done by third-party AI companies, not only on our own systems. The set of providers changes over time.
When those features run, we may send them what you typed or said, plus enough related context to make the feature work, and event listing text we process for the product. That listing text usually started as someone else's data.
Don't put secrets in search boxes or voice notes if you wouldn't want an AI vendor to see them. Each provider has its own retention and logging rules; some may use data under their terms. We don't sell your personal information for money. We aren't using this policy as a blank check to turn private DMs into ads. If the law says a use needs a separate consent, we'll ask.
Who else gets information
Vendors help us run the app. That can include hosting, CDN, databases, file storage, login, email, maps, analytics, error tracking, AI and speech processing, push delivery, and security tooling. Examples you may already see in the product include Google (sign-in and maps) and Apple or Google push services when you turn notifications on. Other infrastructure and AI vendors change as we operate; we don't publish a full roster here.
Separately, the event catalogue comes from third-party organizers, listing and ticketing sites, and other outside sources. We don't invent the events.
Other CliffsList users see what your settings allow. You can adjust visibility for saved events in Settings and on individual events. Messages and feed posts are for the people they're shared with, but we and our vendors may process them to deliver, secure, and support the product — they aren't end-to-end encrypted. We don't put your exact birthday on a public profile. Anyone you share with can copy what they see.
We may share information when we think we have to — law, legal process, abuse, safety, or defending a claim. If the company is sold or merges, information can move with it under privacy law.
Links out to organizers, ticket sites, and maps are their sites, their policies. Listing an event does not hand your account to the organizer.
Storage, devices, and security
Cookies and similar storage keep you signed in, remember preferences, group page views into visits, and distinguish browsers with a first-party identifier that expires after 90 days. Our first-party traffic analytics records page types, visit times, referring domains, approximate city/country and, when signed in, your account ID. It does not retain raw IP addresses, precise coordinates, URL query strings or message contents. Raw traffic records are kept for 90 days. Clearing browser storage may log you out or remove offline copies.
If you use the installed app or offline saved events, copies can sit on your device. Those can be stale. Logout or switching accounts can wipe them. Push tokens live with the push provider while notifications are on.
Vendors may process data in the US and elsewhere. We use the transfer safeguards the law requires. We keep data while we need it for the product, security, disputes, and legal holds. Deletes don't always wipe backups overnight. Nothing online is perfectly secure. We are not responsible for every vendor breach or third-party failure beyond what the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Edit your profile, privacy settings, and device permissions in the app. Turn off push or digests where those controls exist. Delete your account in Settings removes your profile and the personal data we store for you (saves, interests, messages, uploads, and the rest). Revoking CliffsList in Google doesn't delete the CliffsList account by itself.
Where the law already gives you access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or regulator-complaint rights, email support@cliffslist.fun. We'll verify it's you and respond as the law requires. We don't create extra contractual privacy rights beyond that. We won't punish you for asking.
CliffsList is for adults 18+. If you think a kid signed up, tell us.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. Keeping using CliffsList after a change means you accept it, unless the law requires another kind of notice or consent. We won't use an update to quietly invent a wildly different use of old data when the law forbids that.
