We often hear that happiness comes from within, but what does that really mean, and how do we do it? Buddha’s teachings offer clear, practical tools for developing inner peace and well-being, the true foundations of a happy life. During this retreat, we will explore the inner causes of happiness and learn how our own mind can either nurture or undermine it. Usually, we believe our happiness depends on people, circumstances, or good conditions. When things go well, we feel happy; when they don’t, we suffer from stress, depression, anxiety, and other negative and disturbed states of mind. Happiness that depends on external conditions is fragile and easily lost. Through meditation and reflection, we will learn how to gently loosen this dependence and discover a more stable, reliable source, which comes from inner peace and our own love for others. In this way we create positive feelings that no one can take away. Everyone is welcome.
