AI summary · From the event listing

Join us this November and learn how to experiment with natural dye colour extracted from kitchen waste & common plants. We will guide you through the process explaining all the steps you need to complete to achieve the best possible colour outcomes. #### What You Will Learn * How to prepare fibres for maximum colour uptake: the scouring process, tannin treatments and mordanting for your specific fibre content * Colour extraction: preparing plant materials and how to draw out it’s unique colour * Shifting dye colours with PH modifiers: using acid and alkali to change the colour outcome of your dye experiment. * How to create designs using ‘invisible’ vinegar paint or chalk line drawing that reveals the pattern once submerged in the dye bath You can bring cloth, yarn and/or a piece of clothing to experiment with but ensure that the fibre content is 100% natural; silk, wool, cotton, hemp or linen, or a blend of natural fibres.
