Unity Collective: Political Education

October’s Political Education: A Lesson in American History Thursday, October 29th from 7-9pm we are very excited to be welcoming a beloved poet and teacher, Q, for a lesson on Black History in America. We’ll start off with an educational video then open the floor for some deep discussion about current events and how this history relates to whats going on here and now. Q aims to build a bridge, or rather allow people to see the bridge, from the past to the present so that we can come to a shared understanding which shall allow us to make a better future. Quincy “Q” Hull was nicknamed “the professor” as a kid and shares that when he finally got the opportunity to teach at the college level, he was fulfilling that prophecy. He has always had a love for seeking and sharing truth; he’s travelled the country teaching black history classes independently and in collaboration with other black leaders, including an 11 year collaboration at UWF. He currently hosts multiple poetry open mics and a weekly class on Black History and empathy out of his home. The last week of every month Unity Collective focuses on Political Education, where we invite teachers whenever possible or otherwise collaboratively study to be well informed on the polycrises of our time. We hope to see you there for this incredible curated offering, Thursday October 29th from 7-9pm. ... Looking for an accessible place to start your activism journey?
