Organizer’s description
What if safe spaces for honest conversations were as common in every community as a neighborhood Starbucks? What if building a stronger community started with a cup of coffee and the courage to understand each other? Understanding Each Other: Coffee, Courage & Community is a monthly Sister Cities Project meetup created for neighbors, community builders, parents, entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit leaders, local residents, and anyone who believes our communities get stronger when people are willing to listen, share honestly, and understand each other better. This is an official Sister Cities Project event hosted by Shawn McClondon, founder of Sister Cities Project and author of Understanding Each Other: The Blueprint for A New America. Shawn will guide each conversation, but the purpose of the gathering is rooted in SCP’s larger mission: creating spaces where people from different backgrounds, experiences, and communities can come together, build understanding, and move toward a more connected, compassionate, and courageous community. Each month, we’ll gather over coffee for a relaxed, respectful conversation rooted in compassion, courage, authenticity, belonging, and community connection. These are not debates, lectures, political meetings, or networking events. They are opportunities for real people to sit together, hear different perspectives, reflect on meaningful topics, and practice the kind of understanding our communities need more of.
