Organizer’s description

On Tuesday, November 10th at 6:00 PM, Another Tomorrow and WOAH will host a fireside chat exploring the artistic significance, cultural context, and historical impact of pioneering Japanese-Brazilian artist Tomie Ohtake, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Instituto Tomie Ohtake in São Paulo. In conversation: Pamela J. Joyner, collector and philanthropist, and Bernardo Mosqueira, Artistic Director at Solar in Rio de Janeiro, moderated by Graham Steele. Presented as part of the current exhibition Through Lines, the evening is anchored by Ohtake's meditative canvas Untitled (1979). Together, the panelists will look at how color, light, and form can hold a whole practice, and how artistic legacies are carried forward through stewardship, curatorship, and institutions. Through Lines marks the fourth installment of the ongoing curatorial partnership between Another Tomorrow and WOAH. Space is limited to preserve an intimate conversation.
