Organizer’s description
The Womack Sisters Kucha, Zeimani, and BG Womack were singing before they could walk. They grew up on the road. Their schools were stages and studios all over the world, where they sang behind their parents, Zekkariyas & Zeriiya (fka Womack & Womack), alongside their four siblings. Nowhere was home for long. No matter where they lived—London, Thailand, Amsterdam, Kenya, Paris, Sydney, Zurich, Vienna, Tanzania, New York, Miami, West Virginia, the Bahamas—they were always surrounded by music and family. In 2007, the Sisters decided to strike out on their own, leaving their family to pursue their own dreams back in the States. They moved to Los Angeles and connected with their uncle Bobby Womack, brother Meech Wells and industry, singing at open mics, working as background vocalists and arranging and writing for artists including Mya, Earl St. Clair, The Game, B.O.B, Eddie Murphy, and Solange Knowles. The next decade would prove particularly challenging. The loss of their father Zekkariyas (fka Cecil Womack) and the declining health and eventual passing of their uncle Bobby forced the Sisters to take time away from their careers to focus on their personal lives. They moved into an abandoned rehearsal hall where they could write and rehearse in the hours between trying to make ends meet, at various times working as caregivers, nannies, Uber drivers, and house cleaners.
