"The Magic Mountain" by Thomas Mann (Meeting 1 of 4)

In this meeting up we will be discussing the Chapters 1 - 4 of Thomas Mann's acclaimed novel, "The Magic Mountain" Due to its size, we will be breaking the novel across four meet-ups: Meet-Up 1 - NOV 2nd - *Chapters 1 -4* Meet-Up 2 - NOV 16th - *Chapter 5* Meet-Up 3 - NOV 30th - *Tentatively Chapter 6* Meet-Up 4 - DEC 14th - *Tentatively Chapter 7* I have not fully figured out how to break the last two meet-ups so that it isn't overwhelming to the group, so those tentative portion may change. Possibly the second meet-up may go a bit past Chapter 5. I will continue to update as the meet-ups posting occurs. We will be meeting at the following location: Romanella Cucina Romana 3055 Clairemont Dr San Diego, CA 92117 We have reserved a private room with a limit of 13 spots, so please sign up in order to secure a seat. Please be respectful to others, and let's keep it one conversation at a time. Further, refrain from spoiling events in the book if you have read ahead of the meet-up's designated reading portion, when we have multiple meet-ups over one work.
