Organizer’s description

Join us for our challenging book club to discuss Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, one of the earliest works of feminist philosophy. If you choose not to read the whole text, we suggest you read Mary Wollstonecraft's introduction, Chapters 1-4 plus Chapter 6. This is the second in three meetings on feminist literature. Next month's meeting with be on Camille Paglia (specifically No Law in the Arena from the book Vamps and Tramps). Please feel free to link to any useful sites that you find below in the comments. E.g. On past events we have included a link to an Apple playlist of medieval music, curated by Jeremy and I have posted links to relevant podcasts and youtube clips. Meet at Pinkmans Cafe at Bristol Cathedral at midday on Saturday 10 October. Pinkmans cafe offers food as well as tea, coffee etc. Please at least buy a drink to support the venue. Some of us will be eating, but just buying a drink is also fine.
