Organizer’s description
Lí hó 你好 (hello)! Looking to practice speaking Taiwanese (Tâi-gí 台語)? 🥐🍞🥯 Join TAP-DC for a casual get-together to chat, practice, and connect with the community. Is this group for me? This is a casual practice space, not a formal class. We will help each other out. ✅ Beyond the basics: If you can hold basic conversations—even if you stumble, mix in English, or make mistakes—this space is for you! Active learners, heritage speakers, and fluent speakers are all welcome. ⚠️ For absolute beginners: Since there is no curriculum, this specific meetup will be tough to follow if you are starting from scratch. We strongly encourage you to check out the local beginner classes listed at the bottom of this page to build your foundation! Feel free to suggest discussion topics in the event chat beforehand. After the planned session, anyone interested is welcome to grab dinner with us to keep the conversation going.
