Organizer’s description

The Scandinavian people are responsible for more than just burning down Seattle in 1889 :) In spite of that unfortunate incident with a glue pot on old Front Street, Scandinavian immigrants are largely responsible for making Seattle what it is today. Join us on Sunday, Nov. 8th, for an authentic Swedish Pancake breakfast ($18) to the accompaniment of live Scandinavian folk music, followed by a free guided tour of the Seattle Swedish Club, perched high above Lake Union on Dexter, to learn about the Scandinavian influence on the history of Seattle. Let's meet at 9AM at the Swedish Club's main entrance on Dexter, under the canopy (pictured). Plenty of free parking at the club's two parking lots and across the street on Dexter. The Swedish Club will be holding its Tomte holiday bazaar. So bring your holiday shopping list and find some great bargains too. https://www.swedishclubnw.org/tomte-holiday-market _________________________________________ ABOUT THE SEATTLE HISTORY FIELD TRIPS MEETUP We are amateur historians with an interest in Seattle. Newbies to Seattle are most welcome. Once a quarter, or so, this group organizes a field trip to visit sites which are significant in Seattle's history, and to share what we know about them. In the past we have visited the gravesites of important personages and the locations of famous events.
