Organizer’s description

Scott Mulvahill: A masterful performer who knows few limits with his upright bass and dynamic voice, Scott Mulvahill brings his signature blend of roots and jazz to 3rd & Lindsley. Whether accompanied by some of Nashville's finest musicians or commanding the stage alone, he is sure to delight and move his audience with his songwriting and one-of-one musicianship. Scott cut his teeth touring internationally for five years with Ricky Skaggs' Kentucky Thunder before launching a solo career marked by hook-heavy songwriting and virtuosic bass work, taking him to NPR's Tiny Desk, Mountain Stage, and collaborations with Cory Wong, Lauren Daigle and H.E.R. He's also an inventor, having designed the DataBass --- a custom instrument merging upright bass with MIDI sampling, which he demonstrated in a 2024 TEDxNashville talk. His catalog, including Himalayas (2018) through Survive (2023), centers on honest, narrative-driven songwriting, with the bass and invention always in service of the voice and the message. Song Share: What started as a dinner party with a few friends and old guitars is now an important ritual in my artistic life. Song share was conceived as a chance for me and some fellow artists to play for each other, hear and be heard, gab and commiserate, sing together and bask in each other's brilliance. It's also become a workshop where we can bring our new ideas before they're ready for primetime.
