(POSTPONED. New date TBD) "Sea Change: Race for the Arctic" w/ Chicago Council

Climate change is redrawing the geopolitical map—literally. As Arctic ice retreats, new shipping routes, resources, and strategic territory are coming into play, transforming a once-remote region into an increasingly important arena of global competition. Russia and China have spent years expanding their presence and ambitions in the Arctic, raising new questions about America’s role in the region. Is the United States prepared to compete? And what does the race for the Arctic reveal about how climate change could reshape global power and national security? Join Financial Times columnist Rana Foroohar in conversation with Leslie Vinjamuri on the Arctic and the future of American power. Speaker Rana Foroohar This event is hosted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. We from The Geopolitical Forum can hang out and continue the conversation perhaps over a drink or bite after the event wraps up.
