Organizer’s description
Open Tones Sound Meditation & Healing Journey An invitation into non-ordinary reality through a fully improvised sonic journey. We move together through ceremonial meditation, breath, and listening as an opportunity to sink deeply into the present: a state of reflective awareness found in the liminal space between conscious and unconscious. The journey incorporates acoustic instruments and electronic synthesis with Reforester's 26-channel spatial speaker system: tones of voices, flutes, gongs, and singing bowls release the mind, while trance-state rhythm and drones of world percussion and sub-bass ground the body. Expect to leave this session with inner attunement, a fuller understanding of what it means to be open to all that we are, and all that we can be. Open Tones is a contemporary ensemble dedicated to collaborative experimentation and the creation of new sonic forms. Through attentive listening and collective inquiry, the group develops participatory performances that foreground process, presence, and the possibilities of spontaneous composition. @open.tones Guided By: David Nuss, Maximilian Lauter, Sam Haddix, Sarah Martin-Nuss, and Briana Weiner.
