Organizer’s description

Science fiction has long imagined humanity’s path beyond Earth, from post-scarcity utopias to contested frontiers to desperate exoduses. Which way are we headed? This week's interactive community conversation tests those visions against the technological, economic, societal, and cultural forces shaping our spacefaring future right now. Because the future isn’t something we predict but something we choose, the question isn’t just where we’re headed, but where we dare to go. OUR FACILITATORVince Lucich, an engineer and startup founder whose work involves building spacecraft for the emerging orbital economy, will lead us on this idea exploration of the future. WHO'S IT FOR?Idea people. Founders. Builders. Creatives. Researchers. The Curious. And their Supporters --------------FORMATOur format explores ideas together through our diverse backgrounds, while building relationships and community through the process. We want you to talk to each other, instead of just being talked at. 6:00PM - Settle in, grab a drink and some food at the bar, and meet some new people before we start our event. 6:30PM - Our conversation begins with our facilitator presenting the knowledge and context for the conversation along the way. The conversation between attendees will explore from surface level understandings, to deep implications and future iterations. 7:45PM - Meet and connect with new people, catch up with people you haven't seen in a while, discover all the different ways you overlap.
