🦢 From a teenage bride to a legendary queen, her short life was fueled by rumor, scandal, and revolution! Hi everyone 😊 We are meeting for a special screening for the 20th Anniversary of Marie Antoinette, a movie with a quietly divisive reception that breaks traditional historical drama rules. The film was written, co-produced, and directed by Sofia Coppola, and it's based on the 2001 biography Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser. Coppola notes: "It is not a history lesson. It is a documented interpretation, driven by my desire to cover the subject differently." To add to the controversy, it's worth mentioning that the soundtrack features music from new wave & post-punk bands 🎸⋆⭒˚｡⋆ Meetup: If this got you curious, join us for an evening at the French High Court. We will meet for a catch up and a drink at 6.30pm at Victory House wine bar. The movie starts at 7.15pm on Screen 5, Cineworld Leicester Square. After the movie, we'll share our thoughts and Letterboxd scores. 🔔 Full details and ticket link are below. I got seat B13, but feel free to choose any seat you like.
