Organizer’s description

Let’s Talk UFOs! Join two journalists for a conversation exploring one of the world’s most enduring mysteries: UFOs and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs/ UFOs). From the Yukon object shot down by the Canadian military in 2023 and the disputed Pac-Man UFO photograph reportedly circulated among Canadian defence officials, to UAPs near Canada’s nuclear facilities, we’ll examine notable cases, military encounters, government investigations, and the questions they raise. We’ll also look at what’s happening globally, including developments in the United States, where UAPs have become a growing national defence, political, and intelligence concern. Join Chrissy Newton and Daniel Otis for an evidence-focused conversation about what we know, what remains unexplained, and how journalists navigate the line between credible reporting, speculation, and the unknown. Featuring: Chrissy Newton — Pluto member, writer at The Debrief, host of Rebelliously Curious, and host of Discovery Channel’s Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction. Daniel Otis — Investigative journalist working to uncover Canada’s secret UFO files. His news and feature stories have appeared in more than two dozen publications, including the Toronto Star, Vice, and The Globe and Mail. Who should attend: Pluto members and anyone curious about UFOs/UAPs. Pluto members can attend for free. Non-member tickets: Early-bird non-members can attend for $10. At the door: $20. If you can't attend in person, the livestream is $10 CAD.
