Lair O' The Bear Park

Meeting Place: Lair o’ the Bear Trailhead 22550 State Highway 74 Idledale, CO 80453 Please check the hike status and the comments below, the morning of the hike, before leaving your house, in case of any updates due to weather or other concerns. The hike is about 4.3 miles with only about 380 feet of elevation gain. Much of the trail is along a stream. For navigation during the hike, if you have the Alltrails app, you can download the route from the Alltrails link below and use it offline, in case cell coverage is not available during the hike. There are shaded parts and open/unshaded parts. Bring water and sunscreen. The hike will begin promptly at 9:30. Plan your arrival to allow time to park and find the group. I plan to be in the parking lot around 9:15. Look for my gold Toyota Corolla. There are vault toilets at the east end of the parking lot.
