♫ singing & connection for wild times ♫ In the dark times Will there also be singing? Yes, there will also be singing. About the dark times . —Bertolt Brecht Keep Going Choir is a group singing project based in South Seattle. We sing to embody the love and courage we need to keep showing up for ourselves and each other in these wild and unpredictable times. Part community choir and part song circle, this group weaves relational connection, structured warmups, and simple, soulful songs taught by ear to create an uplifting vocal experience. No prior experience with singing is needed; all voices are welcome! What is community singing? Gathering to sing with others is something humans have been doing for thousands upon thousands of years. Today, the practice of community singing often looks like gathering to sing for the pleasure of singing itself, with an emphasis on connection over perfection. We learn songs through oral tradition (repeat after me), so you don't need to read music or have any previous experience to participate, and the songs are simple enough that anyone can catch on. This is a non-performing, non-religious group that welcomes all voices, even folks who think they aren't "good" singers. There's no hierarchy of "good" or "bad" singers here; all voices belong here, regardless of skill. Whether you're a shower singer or a choir enthusiast, your voice is welcome and wanted here! What will we sing?
