Organizer’s description

Join us at ISLAA for an evening with artist and writer Luis Camnitzer, presented in connection with The New York Graphic Workshop: Towards Total Art. Cofounded by Camnitzer, Liliana Porter, and José Guillermo Castillo in 1964, the NYGW challenged established ideas about originality, authorship, and the circulation of art. Its experiments provide a historical starting point for considering how new technologies might transform artistic creation today. Camnitzer will open with reflections on the questions that concern him about art today, particularly the emergence of artificial intelligence. He will then invite the audience into an open conversation and Q&A, exploring what these changes could mean for artists and the future of art. The evening will unfold as a direct exchange between Camnitzer and the public, without a moderator.
