Intro to Practical Magick: Part 2

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Aleister Crowley’s books *Liber E* and *Liber O* are two foundational texts of yoga and magick whose small size greatly belies their importance in the practice of ritual magick. James Eshelman has stated that these simple and straightforward texts are “the foundation of the entire A∴A∴ system of Scientific Illuminism.” The instructions in these books, which have been written for beginners, cover such fundamental topics as asana, pranayama, assumption of god-forms, vibration of divine names, rituals of banishing and invocation, and additional methods of expanding consciousness, as well as orienting and moving around within that space. The books are truly elementary; the exercises and methods which are described are essential to all forms of ceremonial practice in the Hermetic and Thelemic mysteries. In the last class, we went over *Liber E*, focusing on the techniques of yoga; in this class, we will focus on *Liber O* and ceremonial magick. This class is taught by Zeph Bender, who has been a student of Thelema and the Western Mystery Tradition since joining Builders of the Adytum in 1989, and has been an initiate of Temple of Thelema since 1997. He regularly teaches occult science to students in both private and public settings, endeavoring always to reveal the real world implications of even the most arcane subjects.
