Halloween Seance: Mercury Legacy Jazz Jam and Poetry Open Mic

After the Closing of the Pearl/Mercury Cafe building recently, the musicians and poets behind the Friday night tradition of jazz and poetry will be continuing the legacy and the historic event at Lakewood Kava bar and community event space, The Karma House. This event will be integrating the two communities and celebrating the new beginning of an open mic that has existed in Denver for over 30 years. Things will kick off at 7 with a short Jazz set performed in the main bar. In the 8 o clock hour the event will transition to the more intimate Headspace for a Jazz jam followed by a poetry open mic into the late hours. Come experience the new rendition of this historic event continuing the legacy of a Colorado community staple: The Mercury Cafe. This week in celebration of Halloween The Mercury Legacy Jazz Jam & Poetry Open Mic will be hosting a Poetry seance - a long living tradition from one of our former hosts, Stan Astrovsky. We encourage folks to read pieces from dead poets and spooky content and to dress up! Still an open mic, so not required. 🌿 About The Karma House The Karma House isn’t your average bar — we’re an alcohol-free kava bar and community hub in Lakewood, CO.
