Valley Forge - Fast Five+ Miles (Not Slow) Moderate - Advanced 1200+ft

***Early Bird Start at 4:45. We will do a 15 minute loop then meet everyone who arrives by 5:00.*** ***Please note earlier start time due to decreasing daylight hours. For those who can’t make it on time, please check out other OAF offerings scheduled for tonight.*** Marc and Richard will again lead an early-bird hike at Valley Forge where we will be doing **~6 miles** and **1200+ ft** of elevation gain at a decent pace (**apprx. 3.0-3.3 mph**) Moderate - Advanced level, along the trails of Mt Joy and Mt. Misery. With our earlier sunset, we will have two start times - one promptly at 4:45 and the other promptly at 5:00. The 4:45 group will swing by to pick up the 5:00 group. Our route will get us out of the deep woods before dark and we will end around 6:45pm. Additional October VF Monday night hikes are forthcoming. Best to wear hiking boots or trail running shoes as we'll be on dirt trails with rocks and tree roots, not paved paths. Definitely recommend hydrating before the hike and bring plenty of water and a snack. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a static length leash at all times. **GUEST and ATTENDANCE POLICY:** All attendees must be members of Outdoor Adventure Friends.
