Flower Face, Julia Barfield

Flower Face is the moniker of Montreal’s Ruby McKinnon, a songwriter and visual artist whose catalogue — Fever Dreams \[2017\], Baby Teeth \[2018\], The Shark in Your Water \[2022\], and Girl Prometheus \[2024\] — traces her evolution from self-produced bedroom goth-folk to cinematic, genre-defying indie. Praised by Stereogum and Paste as one of today’s most vital emerging voices, she crafts music that transforms heartbreak and resilience into something timeless, intimate, and otherworldly. \-
