**Monday morning at 11:00** Get your week off to a good start with two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company. The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing. On these Beyond Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the wildlife, history, geography and geology of the city periphery. There is also plenty of time to chat about random stuff that comes up along the way. This week we in the riverside village of Pill, which is well connected to the city with a regular bus service. This is a maritime landscape so we will be seeking out tales of sailing and the sea. There are regular buses from Central Bristol. Or, we can help organise lifts. We enjoy a coffee in a local café at the end of our Monday Bristol walks. This week we are at the Cycle Shed Cafe at Abbots Leigh on the way back into town. This is a great opportunity to start your week with a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing. After each walk we send out a set of historical research notes to help you hold on to what you have picked up from our tour. A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
