Organizer’s description

Come grab a copy of local author, Katherine McCarty's debut, LGBTQ+ romance novel, Conversing with Cardinals and meet the author!About the book When Camella leaves college to watch over her estranged and charismatic grandfather, Irving, in a small town in North Carolina, she begins to have mysterious visions of a young boy named Sonny, who lost his family at sea. Sonny lived during the 1930s, but as his story unfolds Camella’s visions begin to include her own past and the history of the town itself. Engulfed by change, and enlightened by Irving’s unique perspective, Camella needs to navigate between two worlds: her reality, and the strangely vivid imaginary. Meanwhile, a gang of elderly residents rally against corporate-takeover as the town builds its first light rail station, and a midnight musician with dark eyes fills Camella’s life with art, passion, and the potential to find beauty in loss. About the author Katherine McCarty received her Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Miami University of Ohio and her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Georgia. Since she was young, she knew she would be a writer amidst the multitude of professions that intrigued her—it has been the dream that has accompanied all others. Since moving to San Francisco, she started her own chiropractic office, runs a non-profit organization, and writes for local newsletters.
