Brisk Urban Walk - Seven Bridges

Yay! It is time once again for our annual Seven Bridges Walk. Departing from our usual relaxed pacing, this will be a brisker walk. We will complete the nearly 6 miles in three hours. Let's meet at 10 am (departing at 10:15 am) at the parking lot of our regular Sunday Assembly venue at Bankers Hill Club, where there will be plenty of parking. We will embark upon our trek through Banker's Hill neighborhoods, up to and across Hillcrest, into North Park, down and straight through the Balboa Park, and back to Banker's Hill to cross our final bridge, the First Avenue Bridge. This is a 5.5 mile scenic walk, crossing over 7 bridges, some of which are hidden historic gems not many locals know about. Bring some snacks for yourself; we don't plan to stop to eat. Though, we will take a restroom stop at the Trader Joe's / Ralph's sufficiently long enough (approximately 15 minutes) to procure a snack item for the road. • This will be both in and around Balboa Park and North Park. • This is not a short walk and may not be suitable for inexperienced walkers. • Some bridges are narrow wooden & suspension bridges, and some are tall, so if heights are a concern, feel free to buddy up with a fellow walker if you think that'll help you get over the bridge. The group will be happy to help in any way it can. • Allow plenty of time in your schedule, since the end time is an estimate and dependent on the group's walking speed and how many stops and breaks taken.
