Boethius

At our next Western Civilization meeting, we'll discuss the life and enduring works of Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius, a 6th-century Roman statesman, philosopher, and theologian often remembered as one of the most important intellectual figures of the early medieval transition. We'll explore his remarkable legacy, his influence on medieval and Renaissance thought, and his most famous masterpiece, *The Consolation of Philosophy*. We'll examine how this profound work addresses timeless human questions about fate, fortune, and finding enduring meaning, and we'll consider how Boethius's insights continue to resonate today as a guide for navigating life's unexpected challenges. Please join us if you can.
