Organizer’s description
This event will be held in-person at HICAM from 6 pm - 8 pm. For more info about our community visit: AustinRobotics.io Talk 1: Every Mission Should Make the Next One Better Description: Robots are becoming increasingly capable, but deploying them reliably into real-world environments remains a major bottleneck. Unlike humans, robots lack the ability to systematically accumulate operating experience, remember what worked or failed, and adapt to the environments where they work. We'll explore how spatial memory, deployment rehearsal, and continual adaptation can close this gap, allowing robots to arrive prepared and improve with every mission. We'll share how Percept is building the infrastructure to make robotic deployments faster, more reliable, and increasingly autonomous. Speakers: Sam Cornelison, Co-Founder & CGO Sam brings 10+ years of enterprise technology and go-to-market experience across public safety, AI, and healthcare, including roles at high-growth companies ultimately acquired by Axon and Motorola. At Percept, he leads growth, partnerships, and commercialization. Alper Gel, Co-Founder & CEO Alper has nearly a decade of experience in computer vision and 3D reconstruction across industrial, retail, and healthcare applications. His 3D reconstruction research at UC Berkeley became the technical foundation for Percept.
