Book, Coffee, Walk & Movie - “Klara and the Sun” and/or “Beautyland”

Adding a second option as “Klara and the Sun” has a long wait. Read one or both, and we can discuss both. Or I can reschedule Klara and the Sun for a later date if interested. “Beautyland” by Marie-Helen Bertino Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino is a tender, imaginative novel about an alien sent to live on Earth who grows up feeling like an outsider in Philadelphia. "Klara and the Sun” by Kazuo Ishiguro In *Klara and the Sun*, Kazuo Ishiguro looks at our rapidly changing modern world through the eyes of an unforgettable narrator to explore a fundamental question: what does it mean to love? Jenna Ortega is Klara in Director Taika Waititi's adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's *Klara and the Sun*, coming exclusively to theaters October 23.Now is the time to experience the incredible, wondrous, mysterious novel that inspired the film. And maybe keep tissues handy! If this is playing in our area, maybe we can go see the movie afterwards. We will meet for Coffee at 10 am to discuss the book and then go for a walk at 11 am. I am going to keep it simple by keeping the meeting place the same each month. (Cafe Ladro in Edmonds, and walking the Pine Ridge Park Trail System or Yost Park trails). I am scheduling these for the last Sunday of the month. If this day and time doesn't work for you and you like this idea, please let me know and I can adjust.Book selections may be dog related, but not necessarily. They may be novels or true-life adventures.
