A beginner folk-dance workshop followed by a party with recorded international music, line, circle, couple and set dances, plus opportunities to talk instead of dancing. Guests Maurits and Tineke van Geel will attend but will not teach.

Learn basic folk dances at the 6:30–7 PM beginner workshop, then dance without needing a partner; first-timers attend free and others are asked for an affordable $10 donation.

**6:30-7:00 PM Beginners Workshop** Learn basic dance steps and a few simple folk dances that will be done later at the party. **7:00-9:45 PM Folk Dance Party** Enjoy an evening of folk dance with our emcees Wendi and Lisa! We'll be dancing to wonderful recorded music from around the world, including line, circle, couple and set dances. No partner is necessary. Our special guests tonight will be [Maurits and Tineke van Geel ](https://www.tinekevangeel.nl) from the Netherlands. They won't be teaching tonight, but we will include many of the dances they have taught us in the past on the program. Maurits specializes in Roma dances, Tineke in Armenian dances. First-timers are always free at our parties; a $10 donation is requested from others if you can afford it. Please dress in layers, and wear or bring comfortable shoes to dance in (sneakers are fine). There will be lots of people to talk to if you don't feel like dancing. *Sponsored by Peninsula Folk Dance, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.* Learn more about international folk dancing at: [https://www.folkdance.com/resources/faq/](https://www.folkdance.com/resources/faq/)
