Indian Trails Public Library District, 355 N Schoenbeck Rd, Wheeling
A talk about French influences on Chicago architecture, featuring examples of buildings inspired by structures in France.
What do Buckingham Fountain, the DuSable Bridge (formerly the Michigan Avenue Bridge) and the Tribune Tower have in common? They are all inspired by structures in France. Laurie Petersen will show us examples of Gallic influence all over Chicago, ranging from mansard-roofed houses to Art Deco skyscrapers. Take a virtual stroll on "Boul Mich" and beyond to see our city *à la française*. Free to all.
