Freegavaganza

**Join us in October for our Freegavaganza –** **a citywide exploration and scavenging of trash!** When you're out dumpster diving, do you ever wonder what you would have found if you had ventured to a different neighborhood instead? Maybe it's better over there... With the Freegavaganza, we dumpster the whole city! Small groups will venture to different neighborhoods throughout the city to see what food they can find that’s been disposed of. We will reconvene after at Union Square at with an impressive display of all sorts of supermarket, bakery and convenience store discards. We will start at 9pm at 14th Street, Union Square, across from Whole Foods, welcoming all who want to join a huge city-wide dumpster dive. The people who want to start in a different part of the city do not need to start at Union Square, but please contact Janet (347-724-6954) to let her know which neighborhood or area they plan to rescue food from. We will all meet up at Union Square at 11. We will make a huge display of food found all around the city. We recommend that people travel in groups or teams of 2-4. If people are not experienced or comfortable going alone or if they don't have a team, they should come to Union Square at 9 and we will find teams for everyone. We have had great success in the past, with a lot of variety of food rescued, and then a lot of people happy to salvage it.
