And wherever Teochew people end up, they insist the kids must speak Teochew. This time, Accent Sisters’ Dialect Corner teams up with the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) to bring you four guests to talk about two dialects that have quietly conquered the diaspora. Together we’ll explore the tones and rhythms of dialect, peek into the past life of tofu, hear the family legend of a 36th-generation descendant of Zhou Dunyi, and follow a Teochew blogger’s stories of how Chaoshan people have put down roots around the world.
